There are a number of dental emergencies which may occur, the most common of which are listed below. If in doubt, you should always speak to our experienced staff and make an appointment.
Accidents, Trauma and Broken Teeth
There are many ways your teeth can be damaged or broken. When you sustain facial injuries, or lose a tooth due to impact, it’s important you receive emergency dental care as soon as possible. In addition to severe pain and discomfort, accidents and trauma may cause your teeth to crack, break, chip, shatter or fall out. In some circumstances your teeth may be saved and implanted back into your mouth.
Painful Tooth Ache
If persistent and throbbing pain in your mouth or jaw is keeping you awake at night (especially if it isn’t relieved by pain medication), then you will need to seek emergency dental assistance. If possible, have a family member or friend drive you to your emergency dental appointment. Where we can provide immediate emergency care, minimise pain and distress, undertake temporary repairs, (where appropriate) and make plans for permanent dental solutions. Ongoing treatment may include, fillings, crowns, bridges, and implants amongst other options.
